Quality Control Lead (Molecular Biology)
YouSeq is a biotechnology company that makes molecular testing kits that are used in hospitals and labs around the world to help fight disease. We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Lead with a strong background in qPCR and team leadership to support our existing QC team. This is a hybrid role combining lab-based work with process optimisation, team leadership and cross functional collaboration.
The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in qPCR and molecular diagnostics. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and thrive by supporting colleagues and promoting collaboration. With a strong understanding of quality systems, they will appreciate the advantages of a well-structured ISO13485 Quality Management System and how it drives compliance and continuous improvement.
The role:
· Leading QC in accordance with ISO13485
· Providing mentorship, training and support to QC team members
· Driving continual improvement in QC processes, including writing and reviewing SOPs and training courses
· Taking ownership of data trending, KPI reports and QC workflows
· Running QC plates and data analysis
· Supporting the team with troubleshooting activities
· Line Management duties
Essential experience/qualifications:
· Comprehensive and proven knowledge of qPCR (minimum 3 years' experience)
· Comprehensive and proven knowledge of QC and manufacture (minimum 2 years' experience)
· ISO13485 QMS experience (minimum 2 years' experience)
· Demonstrated leadership skills, including direct line management
· Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to balance hands-on lab work with wider team lead responsibilities
