I am currently recruiting for a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant ASAP
This is a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant role at a school for pupils with SEN
Behavioural Needs (SEMH)
Schools for students with behavioural and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment that is adaptable to meet each student’s needs. As a teaching assistant, you will support students in developing their daily and academic skills, as well as building their self-esteem and regulating emotions. Students may display challenging behaviour, and staff are provided with training to manage and de-escalate situations. This role is ideal for those who truly want to make a difference and support young people towards a healthy and happy future.
While an understanding of SEN is helpful, many of our teaching assistants gain experience on the job with training and guidance from teachers and school leaders in their placements.
We are currently looking for Special Needs Teaching Assistants who can commit to full-time positions (8.30am to 4.00pm Mon - Fri) and also those seeking flexible cover work.
As a Teaching Assistant supporting pupils with SEMH, you will monitor and report on the pupil’s progress and collaborate with teachers and SENCO to support the student’s development. For example, supporting pupils with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), which includes symptoms such as restlessness and difficulty concentrating. You will help support the pupil in the classroom and develop creative ways to keep them engaged and participating in lessons.
We are interested in applications from:
