About the role
Reporting to: Head of Category Management
Location: Wellingborough, Eccles, or Watford
Job Summary: Maximise the profitability of specific product categories, improve customer satisfaction, and increase cash profit.
We are recruiting for a Category Manager in the Fresh team, focusing on poultry and eggs, based at either our Eccles, Wellingborough, or Watford offices.
You will be responsible for
* Developing and implementing category plans to meet sales, margin, and profit targets while ensuring product availability.
* Growing the own brand business through sourcing to enhance sales and margins.
* Negotiating annually with suppliers for competitive terms.
* Responding to customer feedback to shape category plans, linking to sales strategies and satisfaction.
* Handling customer queries and complaints professionally and promptly.
* Communicating category plans and objectives effectively to ensure understanding and buy-in.
* Ensuring product displays reflect good, better, and best principles.
* Collaborating with the team to identify opportunities and improve processes.
* Adhering to our Business Code of Conduct, acting with integrity, championing diversity and inclusion.
You will need
Operational Skills:
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work independently, solve problems, and make commercial decisions.
* Attention to detail, report writing, data interpretation, and accurate record-keeping.

Experience:
* Previous experience buying Meat products.
* Extensive experience working in FMG.
* Proven ability to work autonomously.
