Burnham Beeches Golf Club has an exciting opportunity for a qualified or experienced greenkeeper to join our team of 7 Greenstaff.
Founded in 1891, Burnham Beeches Golf Club is a private members club and provides a challenging golf course in a beautiful setting on the edge of the historic Burnham Beeches. It has also been an England Golf Championship Venue.
Burnham Beeches Golf Club is an 18 hole par 70 course. We are currently making significant investments throughout the golf club including a new driving range, short game area, bunker & tee renovation programme and a new fleet of John Deere machinery in 2023.
Reporting to the Course Manager, we expect you to be a highly motivated team player, with a strong desire to be the best and have great pride in your work, becoming an integral part of our team. Being able to work individually and as part of the team, you must have excellent attention to detail with a keen eye for improvement. We also expect you to maintain and produce the highest standards of playing surfaces working in line with the golf club's course policy document.
Our ideal candidate will possess or demonstrate the following requirements:
* NVQ level 2 in sports turf management would be advantageous but not necessary or a minimum 2 years' experience.
* Have a keen eye for detail and the ability to produce a high standard of work.
* A positive approach to work with good communication and timekeeping skills, with the ability to provide input into work discussion and course development.
* Good experience of using modern golf course machinery and maintaining them.
* Experience of mowing and preparing all playing surfaces.
* Knowledge and ability to complete tasks in line with any health and safety regulations and practices, and ideally First Aid qualified.
* Have a flexible approach to working hours, including being part of a weekend & bank holiday rota system.
* Qualified CS30 & CS31 chainsaw operator (desirable not necessary).
* PA1, PA2, PA6 spraying certification (desirable not necessary).
* Must be able to work both individually and as part of a team.
* The ability to play golf, knowledge on the rules of golf.
* Full Clean UK Driving Licence.
We would look to interview applicants who do not have the full qualifications but have experience.
