We are a Scunthorpebased GP Surgery looking for a new Salaried GP to join an established clinical team within our friendly practice team, who willbe required to deliver high quality patient centred GP primary care services. The successful candidate should have experience in chronic disease management, along with knowledge in clinical QOF/IIF requirements; demonstrate sound professional knowledge of IT with leadership, communication and training skills. We offer a comprehensive financial/employment package in line with BMA guidance - including NHS Pension, 3 sessions per week, paid CPD, payment of indemnity, 7 weeks leave (inc. 1 week CPD) pro-rata with a view to starting the role in July 2026. We are a friendly GP practice based in Scunthorpe delivering primary care services to just over 10,000 patients. Our Main Surgery site is situated on Ashby Road, Scunthorpe (with a Branch Surgery in the Ironstone Centre on West Street, Scunthorpe). Our patients can attend either site for their medical care. We are also a Training Practice, which means we are responsible for the training of qualified doctors who wish to become General Practitioners. We have an excellent Nursing, Reception and Administration team as well as a Clinical Pharmacist and Community Nursing Team support; and we actively seek to support and develop our team with regular meetings and opportunities for training. We use SystmOne, Ardens, accuRx online consultation IT systems. Job summary: The post-holder will manage a caseload and dealwith a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring thehighest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. Clinical responsibilities: In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, thepost-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety ofduties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations andqueries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeatprescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in atimely fashion Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation topresenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiatedand undiagnosed problems Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs ofillness Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients andin line with current practice disease management protocols Providing counselling and health education Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload andreferring to other care providers as appropriate Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreedstandards Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeatprescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible) Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary(or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all thenormal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working withinprimary care.
