Are you passionate about protecting Northern Ireland’s wild places? Do you thrive outdoors, working with nature and people alike? Ulster Wildlife is looking for a dedicated Nature Reserves Officer to help manage our 19 nature reserves across Northern Ireland including a wide range of native habitats and species.
From woodland and wetlands to coastal dunes, you’ll play a key role in conserving habitats, supporting wildlife, and engaging communities.
About the Role
Carry out habitat management and monitoring
Maintain reserve infrastructure (e.g. fencing, invasive species control, litter removal)
Implement health & safety procedures on-site
Support and supervise volunteers and lead group activities
Work outdoors in all weathers, often alone and on varied terrain
What You'll Need
Experience in practical conservation or land management
Sound understanding of health & safety in outdoor work
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Confident leading volunteers and engaging the public
Full UK or equivalent driving licence
A strong commitment to nature and wildlife
The post is funded via the Carrier Bag Levy by the Department of the Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs.
