Job Description

Assistant Financial Controller duties include;

3. Manage and mentor Purchase and sales ledger teams, fostering a kind and growth-orientated environment.
4. Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports.
5. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes to support business objectives.
6. Support the production of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
7. Lead month-end reconciliations including intercompany and balance sheet ensuring accuracy and transparency.
8. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
9. Oversee cost analysis and variance reporting within the manufacturing operations.
10. Collaborate with other departments to improve financial efficiency.
11. Prepare and submit accurate quarterly VAT returns, staying curious about regulatory updates and best practices.
12. Assist with performance reporting.
13. Contribute to ad hoc financial projects.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Financial Controller should have:

14. A formal qualification (CIMA / ACCA/ ACA)
15. People management experience.
16. Previous experience in the FMCG/manufacturing/ Retail industry.
17. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
18. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
19. Ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively.
20. Excellent organisational skills and good attention to detail.
21. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
22. Proficient IT skills - MS Excel.
