Are you a Teaching Assistant currently working in a mainstream school and ready for a new, rewarding challenge in SEN?
Academics are working with a number of specialist SEN schools across East Kent who are looking to recruit Teaching Assistants immediately. These schools support pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, and associated learning difficulties.
Many of our partner schools are keen to speak with mainstream Teaching Assistants who are open to transitioning into specialist education and developing their SEN experience.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant in a specialist setting, you will support pupils both academically and emotionally. Responsibilities typically include:
* Assisting pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs
* Supporting teachers to deliver adapted and engaging lessons
* Helping pupils with emotional regulation and social development
* Providing 1:1 or small group support where needed
* Working closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams
