Vision for Education are seeking to appoint a dedicated and knowledgeable Teacher of History to join a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Preston, Lancashire. This maternity cover position starts in November 2025 and will run for the remainder of the academic year.
The school is well-regarded within the local community and, in their most recent Ofsted inspection, was recognised for strong leadership, excellent behaviour, and consistently high expectations for learning.
The role
As a Teacher of History in Preston, Lancashire, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The role will require effective planning, delivery, and assessment in line with the national curriculum, ensuring all pupils make progress and develop a passion for historical study.
The successful Teacher of History will:
1. Hold QTS (or be working towards it) with a specialism in History.
2. Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire curiosity.
3. Be committed to delivering high-quality lessons that challenge and support all learners.
4. Have excellent behaviour management skills and a positive, proactive approach to teaching.
