We're looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a thriving specialist secondary school in Stockport on a permanent basis, supporting students with additional learning needs and behavioural challenges.
This is an immediate start opportunity for someone who wants to build a rewarding career in special education or progress in psychology or related fields.
About the Role – SEN Teaching Assistant
Support students with special educational needs (SEND) across KS3 and KS4
Provide 1:1, small group, and whole-class support
Assist with behaviour management and implement de-escalation strategies
Work closely with experienced teachers, SENCOs, and therapists
Help students overcome barriers to learning and unlock their full potential
Flexibility to work across different classes and year groups
What We’re Looking For
Experience working in education or care settings
Understanding of SEND, particularly autism (ASC) and challenging behaviour
Confidence in using de-escalation techniques
A calm, empathetic, and patient approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Teaching Assistant qualification, SEND certificate, or a degree in Education, Psychology, or related field)
