We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Nurse to join the School Nursing Service in Wolverhampton.
As a school nurse you will work within the Bilston team to deliver and manage a programme of care for a designated caseload/population.
The post holder will be required to have NMC registration.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the School Nursing Team in delivering programmes of care to individuals and families to improve health outcomes.
* Work as part of a multi‑skilled School Nursing Team offering universal preventative health care through the Healthy Child Programme in schools, health centres and clients’ homes.
* Contribute to the delivery of the organisation’s objectives.
* Work term time, 37.5 hours per week.
* Serve as an integral member of the School Nursing Service’s team across primary and secondary schools, reporting to the Matron.
* Act in accordance with Safeguarding policies for children and vulnerable adults.
* Undertake review health assessments for children and young people in care in primary and secondary schools.
* Assess, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care in partnership with children, young people and their families.
* Offer and provide training to teachers and school staff.
* Participate in the teaching of unqualified staff, including School Nurse Public Health Associates and pre‑registration students.
* Provide advice, information and signposting on aspects of the current public health agenda.
* Assist in planning and implementing effective health promotion programmes to support Trust and Local Authority targets.
* Participate in promotional and educational events for the service.
* Lead by example, develop yourself and other staff, and influence the way care is given in an innovative, open and responsive manner.
