Identify and manage risks to the client through equipment on site, including identifying critical spares, improving plant and equipment performance, managing environmental conditions via the BMS system, and running all plant and equipment efficiently. Implement and improve preventative maintenance programs.
Utilize new equipment and technologies to maintain a comfortable environment, liaising with the client regarding reactive and PPM tasks.
Fault find on all HVAC plant and equipment, with a focus on Variable Refrigerant Volume air conditioning systems. Hold necessary qualifications for handling refrigerants and F-Gas.
Support team members in health and safety matters.
Act as Energy Champion and assist as Safety Champion for the site.
Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance team.
Write and follow risk assessments, addressing any issues safely and accurately.
Complete required documentation in accordance with rules and legislation.
Use mobile devices to project and complete work from the CAFM Maintenance System.
Plan daily work requirements using email and calendars for efficiency.
Liaise with onsite supervisors and account managers to manage building services issues confidently and accurately.
Serve as the responsible person for the team and deputize for the site supervisor during leave or sickness.
Work overtime as required, including nights and weekends, often with short notice.
Perform ad hoc duties as needed.
Supervise and manage subcontractors.
Participate in an on-call rota for emergency call-outs outside normal hours.
Qualifications:
* A recognized or time-served apprenticeship.
* Strong proven experience in HVAC maintenance.
* Mechanical competencies/qualifications to City and Guilds standards.
* Good multi-skilled ability.
* Ability to fault find.
* Ability to supervise contractors.
* Ability to complete risk assessments and method statements.
* Understanding and ability to write permits and safe systems of work.
* F-Gas safe handling and refrigerant use.
Desirable qualifications:
* Working at height qualification.
* IPAF/PASMA.
* AP qualifications.
* BMS system experience.
