Salary and Bonus
Up to £53,200 FTE DOE plus a £3,000 Welcome Bonus (£1,500 after one month and £1,500 after final probation). £2,000 CPD Training Allowance.
Hours and Contract
37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, permanent. Term time only, or flexibility may be discussed.
Role
Work collaboratively with the education team to deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neuro‑divergent or have SEMH needs. Hold a Speech and Language Therapy caseload and receive support from your clinical supervisor and site lead, contributing to staff training and consultation as required.
Essential Criteria
* Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC registered
* 1‑2 years experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT working in a similar setting
* Relevant experience engaging with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles
* Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice
* Experience of multi‑disciplinary working in a range of settings
* Experience of communicating with families, relatives and carers
* Interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of SaLT practice
* Good relationship‑building, analytical and judgmental skills
* Good communication skills (oral and written)
* Good time management and organisational skills
* Competence in core areas of SaLT practice and a clear understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
* Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, types of intervention and how to formulate support plans based on needs profiles
* Knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management in relation to the client group
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team
* Willingness to attend training and work towards further qualifications relevant to the client group
* Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Desirable Criteria
* Understanding of sensory and motor differences that may impact communication strengths, traits and needs
* Acknowledgment of the relationship between arousal levels and communication
