Bench Joiner & Wood Machinist
Job Overview:
Theresa Spinks Ltd are a family business, established over 40 years in the North East England. We manufacture and deliver high quality timber staircases and stair parts directly to our customers nationwide.
As a Bench Joiner & Wood Machinist, your role will be varied and will ensure our customers' on-time supply of high quality, bespoke staircases and stair components. You will be responsible for manufacturing and assembly in the Staircase Production Department.
Being a Bench Joiner & Wood Machinist, you will be part of a small production team manufacturing staircases and components to customers' specification. You will ensure quality standards are adhered to at all times, maintain health & safety standards and the safe use of machines. The Bench Joiner & Wood Machinist role reports to the Joinery Department Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
* Manufacture of staircases to specification, including part-assembly and quality assurance
* Understanding technical documents and working to the required specification of each project
* Set-up and operation of a diverse range of machinery, power tools and hand tools
* Cleaning & performing maintenance on machinery and equipment
* Performing daily safety checks and ensuring safe working practices are followed at all times
* Ensure products are produced to a high standard of quality, including quality control measures
* Flexible working between multiple machines, working independently on tasks and prioritising your workflow to keep ahead of production deadlines
* Work as part of a team, assisting colleagues and reporting any issues to supervisors
* Provide assistance during the company's stock take and inventory management processes
* Participate in the rota for ensuring safe lock up of site
* Following workplace health and safety rules
* Keeping the factory environment clean and tidy, and maintaining equipment
* Any other duties that the company may reasonably require
Location & Commitments:
* Factory based in Stanley, Co. Durham
* Permanent, full time position
* Salary depending on experience
* 40hrs a week

* Addition hours may be required during busy periods
