Asset Performance (Flood Risk Assets) Team Member – West Midlands - 31676

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our West Midlands Asset Performance teams, working predominantly across Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. This role will require both office (Tewkesbury, occasionally Kidderminster) and field working, with an average of 3 days per week spent in the field across the area, and the rest in the office. There may be flexibility with manager agreement. You should be passionate about the environment and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
In this role you will play a key part in managing our assets by undertaking inspections, collecting data and assisting with planning future asset management. You will help with continual improvement of asset data and information. Responding to incidents is a central part of the work; you will have an incident role and be required to respond to incidents. This may attract additional payment, with full training and workplace adjustments provided to support you.
Due to the nature of the sites we visit and stand-by incident duty, all candidates must live within 45 minutes of their base location and be able to swim. You will need a Full UK driving licence prior to applying and access to your own vehicle.
The team’s purpose is to protect against flooding and minimise flood risks by inspecting, surveying, maintaining and operating assets in a safe and effective manner, working with internal teams, local councils, charities and partner agencies.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers.
* Plan, track, gather and maintain data/information to deliver work.
* Support asset management with understanding of flood risk assets (desirable but not essential).
* Work independently and as part of a team to make decisions and achieve outcomes.
* Use MS Office and learn to use bespoke IT packages; maintain good organisational skills.
* Communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle with business insurance.
* Ability to swim and to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
* Ideally an appreciation of flood risk assets or asset management; transferable skills welcomed even if you do not have a degree or sector experience.
* Good teamwork and the ability to work on your own initiative.
Other Information
Average of 3 days per week in the field, remainder in the base office at Tewkesbury. Candidates living beyond 45 minutes comfortable drive from base will not be interviewed.
