Job Overview: NexHire Medical is currently recruiting for an experienced Reception Team Leader to support one of our valued clients — a well-regarded GP surgery based in South Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong reception background in healthcare to step into a leadership role within a friendly and professional team. Key Responsibilities: Lead, supervise, and support the reception team on a daily basis Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the reception area Liaise closely with the Practice Manager to coordinate administrative and operational tasks Allocate tasks and rotas to reception staff effectively Handle patient queries, appointment scheduling, and repeat prescriptions Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained at all times Support and train new or existing reception staff as required Monitor workloads and address any operational issues proactively Ensure data accuracy and confidentiality in line with GDPR and NHS standards Essential Skills & Experience: Previous experience working in a GP surgery or similar healthcare setting Proficiency in EMIS Web Experience in a receptionist or administrative role Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and under pressure Strong organisational and multitasking abilities A proactive, positive, and team-focused attitude Desired Skills: Knowledge of NHS systems and protocols Experience supervising or managing staff Familiarity with CQC compliance and patient confidentiality standards Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills High attention to detail Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workload demands This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their healthcare administration career in a supportive and well-structured environment.
