C&YP Social Work Manager – Assessment & Support
Location: Hereford (Ross‑on‑Wye, Leominster and Hereford)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 per week
Salary: 11HC £51,356‑£55,915 (plus market supplement £5,000 per year)
Responsibilities
* Manage a team of staff directly working with children and families.
* Allocate and prioritise workloads effectively to ensure the care of the child is paramount.
* Provide leadership to the team and develop their capacity to deliver high‑quality service.
* Ensure the team plan meets objectives and performance targets are achieved.
* Oversee strong assessment and report writing practices and manage complex cases.
* Support and promote a restorative, collaborative approach to social work within the assessment team.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified social worker (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent).
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in statutory social care.
* Strong analysis, planning and decision‑making skills.
* Committed to working collaboratively, inclusively, and creatively with families and partner agencies.
* Resilient, reflective and confident in managing complex situations with sound professional judgments.
* Registered with Social Work England.
