Salary: As per WA Health Industrial Agreement – Registrar / PHO Level + regional allowances
Start Date: Late 2025 / Early 2026
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Emergency Department Registrar to join a high-performing team at a regional hospital on the coast of Western Australia. This is an ideal opportunity to broaden your emergency medicine skills in a supportive, high-acuity setting with strong supervision and procedural exposure.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide timely assessment and management of emergency presentations
* Perform ED procedures including airway management, trauma resuscitation, and POCUS (under supervision)
* Collaborate with consultants and inpatient teams
* Supervise junior doctors and students
* Contribute to clinical teaching and audits
* Maintain high standards of documentation and discharge planning
Hospital Overview
This modern regional hospital is a key referral center, with a diverse case mix including trauma, mental health, Indigenous health, and rural presentations. Facilities include a helipad for RFDS transfers and strong connections to Perth tertiary hospitals.
Essential Criteria
* General registration (or eligible) with AHPRA via the Competent Authority Pathway
* Minimum 3 years post-graduate clinical experience (including ED experience)
* Strong clinical and decision-making skills in acute settings
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills
