We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead General Practitioner to join our team at Heathrow IRC. Heathrow IRC is based in Colnbrook, West Drayton, providing care to around 820 patients across 2 sites. Within this role you will oversee the delivery of a high quality GP service and clinically supervise GP's who work either substantively or bank. You will assist with training, rotas, clinical sessions as well as leading MPCCC and safer prescribing meetings.
Ideal applicants would enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have experience in leadership and management.
Hours
You will be required to work across Monday to Friday: 09:00 - 17:00.
There is flexibility to work a few sessions on weekends.
This is a full time role working 40 hours or 10 sessions a week.
Salary
This position is fulltime, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £139,680 per annum FTE – depending on experience.

What you'll be doing:
Our Lead General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a Lead General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will
* Provide medical leadership and expert advice, regarding medical and primary care issues.
* Identify and utilise evidence based best practice through benchmarking and clinical guidelines.
* Chair the MPCCC & safer prescribing meetings and support 72 hour review meetings.
* Ensure systems and processes in place for managing results, letters, tasks.
* Be a core member of the local QA and MM meetings.
* Review RCA findings and engage with action planning, ensuring lessons learned are embedded.
* Support the development of Local Operating Policies.
* Support the Head of Healthcare at Local Delivery Board meetings.
* Attend Clinical Forums.
* Reviewing CVs for potential new GPs and locum/agency GPs and support the recruitment of new GPs into the service.
* Oversee the induction of new GPs into the local site.
* Support other GPs working in the service with peer review & clinical supervision.
* Support the Head of Healthcare with any discussions about poor performance and escalate if necessary to regional cluster lead where considering referral to DMG.

Qualifications required
* MBChorMBBS; inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List.
* Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal.
* Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse RCGP.
* Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications.
