As play barn assistant you will work in all areas of the new Temple Newsam play barn, including a retail outlet, café and indoor play area. The role will include food preparation and delivery, as well as cash handling within the café and retail areas. You will contribute to maintaining the cleanliness of all areas within the facility as well as contributing to the provision of a high quality customer experience to visitors., To assist in the provision of a high-quality customer service in a retail, catering and play outlet. To ensure cleanliness and hygiene of visitor facilities at Temple Newsam.,
* Undertake daily inspections of the facilities according to the checklist and action or report findings as required.
* Clean and service all areas of the buildings to an agreed standard to include.
* Toilet/hygiene/changing areas.
* Kitchen and Service areas
* Play equipment, including high levels within the play barn.
* Corridors, landings, staircases and entrances
* Litter removal.
* Washing of walls, windows and glass
* Providing an efficient and polite customer service
* To assist in the preparation and delivery of food and drink.
* Be responsible for stock control, cash handling and financial transactions in compliance with the authority's financial regulations.
* To be responsible for keyholding including opening and locking up the facility on occasion as required.
* Safely use appropriate cleaning products according to Safe Operating Procedures and in accordance with COSHH regulations.
* Be aware of and comply with Leeds City Council policies and procedures e.g. child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
* To comply with the code of conduct and uniform policy as required.
* To attend relevant meetings and training as requested to ensure maximum efficiency.
* To administer first aid as required

* Able to demonstrate numeracy and literacy to a good standard.

* Able to work effectively unsupervised.
* Able to utilise cleaning products according to Risk Assessments and COSHH assessments.
* Able to complete inspection checklists and report defects.
* Able to communicate with a wide range of people.
