Supported Accommodation Team Leader – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Bagnall, Stoke-on-Trent ST9
Salary: £34,000 per annum (inclusive of sleep-in allowance based on 10 sleeps per month)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 2 days on / 4 days off
3-Bed Children’s Home
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Team Leader to join a 3-bed children’s supported accommodation service in Stoke-on-Trent. The home is currently supporting 1 young person and is registered for up to 3 young people.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people to develop independence, life skills, and positive outcomes in a safe and supportive environment.
The Role
As Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the supported accommodation service, providing leadership and guidance to a team of support workers while ensuring the young people receive high-quality care and support.
You will play a key role in promoting independence, wellbeing and personal development while ensuring the service meets safeguarding, regulatory and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a team of support workers to ensure high-quality support delivery
* Support the development and implementation of individual support and pathway plans
* Promote independence and life skills development for young people
* Ensure accurate and up-to-date records and reports are maintained
* Contribute to team meetings, supervision and staff development
* Work collaboratively with social workers, families and external professionals
* Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to care planning
* Ensure the home meets health & safety and safeguarding standards
* Support the creation of a safe, positive and therapeutic environment
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who have:
* Experience working with children or young people in residential or supported accommodation settings
* Experience leading or supervising a team
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
* Ability to support young people with complex behaviours and trauma-informed approaches
* Good organisational and communication skills
* A positive, resilient and proactive approach
Desirable:
* Level 4/5 Diploma in Children & Young People (or willingness to work towards)
* Experience working with looked-after children
