We are currently seeking an experienced Property Surveyor to join the Asset Management team. This role is ideal for a professional seeking to make a tangible impact within the housing and social infrastructure sector.
Role Overview
The Property Surveyor will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, end-to-end surveying service. You will conduct property inspections, assess building condition, specify remedial works, and manage the execution of maintenance and improvement projects. You will play a key role in ensuring homes meet safety standards and regulatory requirements while delivering excellent value for money.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct property surveys to identify defects, assess condition, and recommend remedial solutions
* Produce technical reports, work specifications, and cost estimates
* Manage disrepair cases, insurance-related repairs, and structural issues
* Monitor contractor performance and ensure works are completed to specification and quality standards
* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and housing regulations (e.g., HHSRS, CDM 2015)
* Collaborate with residents, contractors, and internal departments to ensure a seamless service
* Maintain up-to-date asset and works records in internal systems
* Contribute to the development and implementation of planned maintenance programmes
Person Specification
* Professional qualification in Building Surveying or related discipline (e.g., RICS, CIOB)
* Proven experience in a surveying role within housing, residential, or asset management sectors
* Strong technical understanding of construction, building pathology, and maintenance practices
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Landlord & Tenant Act, housing disrepair protocols, and health and safety regulations
* Excellent communication and report-writing skills
* Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines effectively
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
* Experience managing disrepair claims or structural defects
* Knowledge of housing asset management systems
