Join our dynamic and dedicated FE Early Years team for an exciting 3-day-a-week role!
As a Progress and Destination Tutor You'll collaborate closely with curriculum and teaching staff to provide tailored support that empowers students to thrive. Your mission? To help every learner progress confidently through their programme, gain vital skills, and reach their next big step—whether that's further education, training, or employment. Your impact will directly boost the College's success in retention, attendance, and positive student outcomes!
In this role, you'll take the lead in delivering engaging weekly group tutorials, based on a series of centrally agreed themes. You'll spark meaningful conversations, adapt content to suit the needs of your tutor groups, and bring topics to life in a way that resonates with their course and career goals.
You'll also support a personal caseload of students, tracking attendance, identifying those at risk, and providing focused guidance to help them reach their full potential.
Flexibility is key—you'll be working across one or more curriculum areas as needed, always bringing your passion, energy, and commitment to student success.
About the Role:
Support student induction and orientation in collaboration with curriculum staff, identifying destinations and barriers to learning as part of the 42-day retention focus.
Prioritise support for late enrollers or students showing early signs of disengagement.
Monitor and act on attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and learning attitudes.

Use digital platforms like Google Classroom to deliver aspects of the tutorial programme, including employability and work experience.
Conduct regular one-to-one tutorials, supporting students with all aspects of their study including English, maths, and work-related learning.
Track attendance and follow up on persistent non-attendance, maintaining communication with parents/guardians where appropriate.
Provide initial pastoral support and refer students to relevant internal support services.
Assist students in making informed progression choices, including employment, apprenticeships, and Higher Education, in partnership with Careers and curriculum staff.
Maintain close communication with curriculum teams to track academic progress.
Organise and attend meetings with students, parents, and course tutors to support progress.
Represent student support at Parents' Evenings, Open Events, Enrolment, Welcome Days, and Advice Days as required.
