Commissioning Officer
Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire
Hours: Fulltime, 6-month FTC | 37 hours per week | 09:00am – 17:20 Monday to Friday, Hybrid role - 50% in office and 50% at home
Salary: £18.06 per hour, £34,747 per annum
Our established client is looking for a Commissioning Officer to support to aid access to a range of effective commissioning options, ensuring the best outcomes are provided for clients.
The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of SEND legislation and processes along with experience working in a commissioning environment as a commissioner or provider.

Key Responsibilities of a Commissioning Officer
* Develop and maintain relationships with a range of institutions and establishments.
* Monitor place allocations.
* Create bespoke packages of support to ensure clients are supported accordingly.
* Manage procurement processes when required, including the development, implementation, and maintenance of procurement systems with partner local authorities.
* Ensure high quality, appropriate options are available to meet client needs.
* Manage and maintain relevant data for commissioning provision.
* Review management of commissioning briefs and agreements.
* Produce and monitor new and existing contracts as necessary.
* Keep up to date with relevant policy, best practice, and legislative changes.
* Contribute to the commissioning requirements working protocol across SEND and CYPS commissioning teams.
* Contribute towards the management and implementation of policies and joint commissioning arrangements.
* Project management of SEND re-organisations and the implementation of relevant statutory processes.
Key Skills of a Commissioning Officer
* Excellent knowledge of Special Educational Needs legislation and processes.
* Experience of working in a commissioning environment as a commissioner or provider.
* Experience of assisting with commissioning and procurement activity.
* Knowledge of project support, planning, and reporting.
* Sound understanding of multi-agency working.
* Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills.
* Experience of working in areas where policy and legislation are subject to change.
* Good written and verbal communication skills
