Medicine Management and Pharmacy Services are seeking to recruit a permanent, highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Business Manager to act as our CSU Staff Engagement Lead. You will share line management responsibility for the Business Support Team alongside another Assistant Business Manager and be responsible for driving the commitment to ensure staff have meaningful opportunities to be heard and that feedback is acted on. Main duties
* You will be committed to enhancing the performance and productivity of the Business Support Team, using your own insight and initiative to drive improvements.
* Responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the national NHS Staff Survey and quarterly pulse surveys, including planning, communication, data analysis and sharing results with the wider CSU; support local managers to understand and act on feedback.
* Work closely with MMPS Senior Leadership Team, HR, Organisational Development, Equalities Team, Staff Networks, and Freedom to Speak Up Guardians to coordinate staff engagement activities and priorities.
* Provide regular support to the Business Support Manager, Business Manager and General Management Team to coordinate wider CSU business activities.

Job responsibilities
2. JOB PURPOSE
The post holder has line management responsibilities for the Business Support Team within MMPS. They will lead the team, prioritise workloads and ensure continuous improvement systems and processes within the Business Support Unit. The post-holder works closely with the Business Support Manager/Business Manager/General Manager for MMPS to ensure efficient delivery of an administrative service to the CSU. The post holder takes the lead in coordinating the delivery of the Business Support Team.
3. JOB DIMENSIONS
Manage the business and administrative function and associated staff of MMPS. Support the Clinical Director, General Manager and Business Manager, and staff to ensure effective management of the service. Manage performance against targets and support new service developments/projects within the CSU.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
5. ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Educated to degree level or a management qualification; management experience; understanding of NHS organisations and structures; experience in managing and motivating staff; strong influencing, leadership and motivational skills; ability to communicate clearly to a wide range of professional and managerial staff; confident and assertive; excellent written and verbal reporting skills; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with sensitive information; knowledge of Microsoft packages; understanding of Information Governance; self-starter; ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* DESIRABLE: Educated to degree level / management qualification; Change management experience; knowledge of the Trusts agenda and national initiatives; numerate and proficient with complex figures and Excel.

Principal duties & areas of responsibility
Resource Management
* Lead the CSU Business Support Team and ensure key objectives are met; facilitate regular Team Briefs; set personal objectives following annual appraisals; monitor progress and provide guidance.
* Manage sickness, attendance, conduct, performance and disciplinary issues within Trust Policies; recruitment and selection; maintain personnel data; ensure mandatory training; cross-site working.
* Monitor the Business Support budget and expenditure on non-clinical items; plan resource use within the department; authorise timesheets and holidays; provide cover for the Business Support Manager; drive staff engagement across the CSU to implement improvements.
Qualifications
Essential: GCSEs (A-C) including Mathematics and English; Desirable: degree level or management qualification.
Experience: Essential – experience of staff management; problem solving; data analysis. Desirable – change management experience.
Other: Essential – excellent written and verbal reporting; ability to analyse data; Desirable – numerate with Excel proficiency.
