As an MET Technician, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient strip-down and reassembly of vehicles in line with approved repair estimates and methods. You’ll play a key role in ensuring repairs are completed accurately, on time, and to the highest quality standards within a busy bodyshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Strip and refit vehicles in line with repair estimates, methods, and procedures
* Carry out all dismantling and reassembly work to a high standard, ensuring quality checks are completed throughout
* Identify and report any deviations from the estimate or repair methods to the estimator immediately
* Advise the Bodyshop Team Leader of any additional work identified during the repair process
* Ensure all work is completed within allocated repair times
* Check parts availability against estimates to prevent delays, returning unused parts for credit where applicable
* Supervise and support non-qualified staff when required
* Ensure all tools, equipment, and safety-related materials are in date and fit for purpose
* Maintain high housekeeping standards and comply with all health and safety regulations
* Undertake additional reasonable duties as required by management
Experience & Requirements
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an MET Technician role
* ATA accreditation preferred but not essential
* Strong understanding of bodyshop repair processes and methods
* Ability to work accurately from job cards and estimates
* Good attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety
* Able to work independently and as part of a wider bodyshop team
