Bailey Fisher Executive Search is supporting a Sussex based SME in the appointment of a new Finance Director. The ideal candidate will contribute to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all financial tasks having previously operated within a manufacturing/engineering company as an FD.
Key responsibilities:
Leadership of the finance function to ensure sound financial management of the company and an ability to scale as the company grows.
Challenge the business plans and ongoing financial performance with the business and functional leaders, spotting trends early and interpreting information quickly to ensure that action is agreed and carried out effectively.
Engage with external auditors to ensure the audit is completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
Drive improvements in business analytics, internal and board reporting and forecasting (including annual budget and plan, forecasts, monthly
Reporting to the Board, (KPIs, etc.).
Tightening and automation of month and year-end procedures.
Drive a strong focus on internal controls, ethics and compliance.
Experience
·Prior experience working at Board or Senior management level in an investor backed business, ideally in a UK-based manufacturing operation.
Management and development of a successful finance function
·Engagement with external auditors.
·Commercial accounting to include support in pricing projects and understanding the implications for working capital and gross margin
·Experience of treasury, forex, tax/transfer pricing and working capital
'Hands on' experience in an SME and able to build a team and systems/process to support growth
Salary Range - c£70-80k plus bonus, benefits. Must be able to work in the office at least 4 days per week.
