We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in A&E on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Emergency Medicine department.
Our client is one of the largest Trusts in the UK for delivering Emergency Care, with a consultant team of over 48 motivated and enthusiastic individuals, possessing a vast breadth of experience and a wide range of special interests. With over 20,000 staff members, the department offers great flexibility, allowing consultants to pursue interests outside emergency care, such as establishing hospital units abroad, Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine, working with other Trusts & organisations, medico-legal work, and media engagement. The department has made significant strides in education, with extensive nursing, clinical practitioner, and medical programmes, aiming for recognition for Excellence in Emergency Medicine education.
The Trust includes a Level 1 Trauma Centre and hosts the UK's only £20m National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Surgical Reconstruction and Microbiology Research Centre (SRMRC). This presents a great opportunity for the right candidate.
The successful appointee will be responsible for:
1. Examining and treating patients in the Emergency Department.
2. Supporting clinical decision-making for medical and nursing staff within the department.
3. Attending out-of-hours shifts as per the job plan.
