Job Overview: As a Commercial Lead / Commercial Manager, you will manage the financial aspects of our projects, ensuring cost efficiency and effective budget control throughout the construction process. You will work closely with a team of professionals to contribute to project success and showcase your quantity surveying expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead all financial matters related to construction projects, from tender to completion.
2. Manage cost estimates, budgets, and procurement processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
3. Conduct cost analysis, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend actions to the project team.
4. Prepare and evaluate subcontractor agreements, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
5. Monitor and control project expenses, anticipate financial risks, and manage variations.
6. Provide accurate financial reporting, highlighting project performance and financial status to senior management.
7. Foster relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
8. Mentor and support junior quantity surveying team members, promoting professional growth.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Commercial Lead or Commercial Manager within construction, preferably with a Tier 1 Main Contractor.
* Deep knowledge of quantity surveying practices, contract administration, and cost management.
* Strong commercial acumen with effective budget management skills.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects.
* Sound understanding of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
* Professional qualifications in Quantity Surveying or related disciplines are advantageous.
