Job Title: Semi-Independent Living Support Worker (16+) Company: Kelwel Care Location: Ipswich & Bury St Edmunds Shift Pattern: 2 Days On, 4 Days Off (Sleep-in Required) Working Hours: 7:00 AM 11:00 PM Salary: From £28,000 per annum
Applicants must have prior experience working with children in a residential care setting or in a social services capacity.

We are currently seeking compassionate, committed, and proactive Support Workers to join our expanding team in Ipswich & Bury St Edmunds.
Role Overview:
As a Semi-Independent Living Support Worker, you will work with young people aged 1618, supporting their journey toward independent living. Your role will focus on promoting personal development, resilience, and independence in a supportive and respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support young people (16+) with day-to-day tasks, including budgeting, cooking, cleaning, attending appointments, and accessing education, training, or employment.
Encourage independence while offering emotional support and guidance.
Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive living environment- responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns in line with policies and procedures.
Build professional, trusting relationships and support key working sessions and care planning.
Maintain accurate records and collaborate with social workers, health, and education professionals when needed
Flexibility Participate in sleep-in shifts, evening, and weekend working as part of the rota.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: Previous experience working with young people or care leavers in a similar setting is highly desirable.
Education: Qualifications in youth work, social care, or a related field are preferred.
Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to guide and inspire young people.
Attributes: Energetic, patient, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting youth development.
Requirements: A full UK driving licence and a clear Enhanced DBS check or willingness to complete one.
