I am currently recruiting for a Senior buyer for a global manufacturing business. They are looking for someone with solid procurement experience ideally gained within a manufacturing / engineering environment although this isn't essential. This award winning global business has 23 global manufacturing sites.
They are moving towards category management so are looking for someone more strategic than operational.
Key area of experience:
1. Strong analytical skills to identify improvement opportunities
2. Implementation of category strategies resulting in improvements both in the UK and globally
3. Excellent negotiation skills able to use different methods with different suppliers
4. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost drivers in related categories or an interest in learning this
5. Category management experience
6. Excellent stakeholder management skills

This role is based in Staffordshire and is 100% on site
