Job Summary We are a dedicated acute mental health hospital, committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a safe and therapeutic environment. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for a reliable, motivated Housekeeping Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming space for our service users, staff, and visitors.
Duties
* Cleaning and sanitising patient areas, staff rooms, bathrooms, and communal areas
* Safe disposal of waste and linen handling
* Replenishing supplies (e.g. soap, paper towels)
* Following infection prevention & control and COSHH guidelines
* To provide a high standard of domestic service, ensuring all patients experience a pleasant, safe, clean and welcoming environment and are courteously assisted and directed in an acceptable manner
* To assist in pot wash shifts when required
* To assist with the movement of materials and equipment
Skills
* Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or domestic roles (healthcare setting preferred)
* Understanding of infection control procedures
* Awareness of safeguarding and patient dignity
* Reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
* Friendly, respectful manner with sensitivity to mental health service users
* Willingness to undertake training (e.g. COSHH, infection control, safeguarding)
* Working within care for vulnerable adults is advantageous
