Experienced and proactive Process Improvement Engineer required by our globally renowned client to identify, implement, and sustain continuous process improvement activities across a busy manufacturing operation.
Our client has been established for more than 35 years and is recognized as a market leader in designing, developing, manufacturing, and distributing electrical cabling and connection solutions worldwide. Due to continued success and ongoing strategic growth, they are now seeking an experienced, hands-on, and proactive Process Improvement Engineer to join their professional manufacturing team.
Reporting to the Design and Technical Manager, the Process Improvement Engineer will evaluate manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement, and design solutions to enhance production efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve quality while reducing waste and scrap levels to optimize output.
Working within the company's core values—Quality, Innovation, Environmental Care, and Global Capability—you will be passionate about continuous improvement and Health and Safety, striving to meet and exceed KPIs and metrics.
Your responsibilities include reviewing current processes, utilizing lean principles and problem-solving tools to eliminate waste and bottlenecks, and providing project proposals using tools like Planner to improve manufacturing flow. You will also collect and analyze data to support process improvements and problem-solving activities.
Additional duties involve issuing documentation, training staff on new procedures, resolving quality issues related to product capability and surface finish, and planning workflow, personnel movement, space, and equipment layout to enhance process flow and output.
To qualify, candidates should have at least 4 years of proven experience in a manufacturing environment focused on process improvement, with successful project management track records. Relevant qualifications include degrees in engineering disciplines such as chemical, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering, along with experience in AutoCAD and MS Office. Excellent communication and influencing skills, analytical ability, and a results-driven approach are essential for motivating others and sustaining improvements in a continuous improvement environment.
