CareTech, Wisbech, England, United Kingdom – Occupational Therapist
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join Cambian Meeko House, a 16 bedded children’s residential home catering for 12 – 18 year olds with ongoing mental health needs and challenging behaviours that may prevent them from functioning within the community without continued support.
Responsibilities
* Provide Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions within an assessment unit for young people with complex mental health needs.
* Work as part of a multi-professional clinical team, including Psychiatry, Psychologists, OT Assistants, Educators, Social Workers, Health Care Assistants and Nurses.
* Assess an individual’s OT needs and deliver 1:1 and group interventions.
* Develop management and supervision skills and supervise the two Occupational Therapy assistants noted in post.
* Provide training, support and consultation to the team, including key workers and teaching staff within the service education provision.
* Contribute to the development of the Cambian Occupational Therapy service to ensure it is evidence-based and meets the needs of the young people.
* Attend child-focused meetings (e.g., CPA reviews), prepare reports, deliver training, liaise with external agencies as required, and contribute to risk management and placement plans.
Candidate Profile
* Essential
* BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy
* Registered with HCPC
* Registered with COT
* Demonstrate an interest in service development
* Licence and access to own transport
* Strong team player with excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
* Provide quality assessments and interventions within the Model of Human Occupation
* Beneficial: Experience with children and adolescents
