Part-Time Personal Assistant
A Little About Myself
I am a 17 year old girl living in the Church Village area with my mother and 3 dogs. I am a funny and direct girl who can be quite stubborn when I want to be. I enjoy gaming and especially enjoy Minecraft and Fortnite. I also enjoy going to arcades and I am a bit of foodie. I am diagnosed with Down syndrome and can sometimes struggle to communicate when I am too excited, but I can use Makaton to communicate if needed. I am not a big fan of walking and will sometimes just sit down if I have had too much.
Purpose of the Job
I am looking for a PA to take me out into the community and to help me get out of the house as much as possible. This will help me build relationships away from my family and gain some social independence.
Rate(s) of Pay
* £13.50 per hour
* 40p per mile where applicable
Hours of Work
I have 6 hours per week to use term time and 12 hours per week to use during school holidays. Term time hours will be after school but flexible on days. During holidays the times will also be flexible.
Tasks Can Include
* Taking me out into the community and ensuring my safety while out.
* Thinking of new places we can go together.
* Supporting me to get to the toilet when required, but I will not need support in the toilet.
* Occasionally doing activities at home if the weather is bad or while we get to know each other.
Type of Person Required
* A car driver with business class insurance.
* A person happy to work in a home with dogs.
* Someone who can work flexibly with us.
* Someone with patience and who is willing to encourage me when needed.
* A person who is not easily offended as I can be direct at times.
About the Job
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.
All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.
Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
Wages will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
