Overview
1.0 WTE 37.5 hours worked over five days with no opportunity to work from home, this is a face-to-face role 08:30-16:30. The Simulation and Essential Clinical Skills service forms part of the Education Academy within Bart's Health. It is responsible for providing facilities and educational opportunities for both undergraduate and post graduate trainees across Bart's Health. This is a face-to-face role without provision to work from home. The post holder will be based in the Simulation Centre facility at Whipps Cross five days a week. They will be expected to work across other sites as and when required. The post holder will be responsible for delivering procedure based teaching alone and in partnership with specialists in the field. The post holder will support the local simulation manager specialist in the delivery of simulation and essential clinical skills training, namely:
Responsibilities
* Preparation and delivery of the undergraduate and postgraduate clinical skills sessions
* Evaluation and monitoring of effective clinical skills and simulation teaching and training
* Assist and support the local simulation manager specialist in the construction, delivery and evaluation of a clinical skills and other simulation-based educational activities as requested by the simulation and clinical skills lead
* Develop, facilitate and/or deliver income generating courses
* Work as part of the wider Simulation and Essential Clinical Skills team
Qualifications and requirements
* Registered nurse or ODP with clinical experience and teaching interest; ability to manage services and demonstrate best practice; ability to access current guidance and research to ensure teaching complies
* Degree or equivalent
* Teaching experience
* Excellent communication and social skills
* Aptitude for learning
* Managerial skills
* Good IT skills
* Ability to work both within a team and independently
