We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our small finance team. Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records using accounting software Sage or similar platforms
* Support accounts payable processes by verifying invoices, processing payments, and maintaining supplier records
* Aid in financial reporting and reconciliation activities to ensure accuracy of accounts
* Contribute to month-end and year-end closing procedures under supervision
* Assist with general ledger entries and data entry tasks related to financial transactions
* Support the finance manager in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
* General administration duties
Skills
* Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage or a similar platform is essential
* Strong understanding of financial services and financial management principles
* Experience with accounts payable processes and financial accounting procedures
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
* Good communication skills to collaborate effectively within teams and across departments
* Ability to adapt quickly to new systems or processes and demonstrate a keen eye for detail
* Ability to work independently but also part of a small team
* Ability to use Excel efficiently
