Overview

The Weymouth and Portland Integrated Community Rehab Team is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant to join their multidisciplinary team at Westhaven Hospital, Weymouth. Our team includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Registered Nurses, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, Rehabilitation Assistants and a Team Administrator. We are committed to high quality care and rehabilitation for residents in the Weymouth and Portland area through integrated and collaborative working with Primary and Social Care sectors.


Responsibilities

* Work mainly under supervision of clinicians within the team, with the ability to work autonomously within your competencies.
* Visit patients in their homes and other community settings, requiring a valid driving license and the ability to drive a car.
* Support rehabilitation and care activities in the community and, as required, on the rehabilitation ward.
* Develop clinical skills through supervision, regular appraisals and training to achieve competencies.


Requirements and Qualifications

* Experience in rehabilitation or a caring role, with good verbal and written communication and team-working skills.
* Flexible approach and confidence to work independently.
* Basic IT skills.
* NVQ level 2/3 would be advantageous.
* Essential: driving ability to visit patients in homes and community settings.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.
