Overview
We are looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer with strong E-PLAN experience to join a specialist engineering team designing bespoke equipment for the aerospace & automotive industry. You will play a key role in delivering high-reliability, safety-critical electrical designs for technically complex, low-volume, high-value systems. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working on custom machinery, thrives on detail, and understands the demands of aerospace standards and quality.
Responsibilities
* Design electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panels using EPLAN
* Develop electrical systems for specialist aerospace equipment and test rigs
* Produce technical documentation, BOMs, and manufacturing packs
* Ensure designs comply with aerospace, electrical, and machinery standards
* Support build, test, validation, and commissioning activities
* Collaborate closely with mechanical, systems, and software engineers
* Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement activities
Qualifications
* Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer in a regulated engineering environment
* Strong hands-on experience using EPLAN (P8 preferred)
* Background in designing control panels and electrical systems for bespoke machinery
* Solid understanding of electrical standards (IEC, BS, UL or equivalent)
* Ability to work methodically with a strong focus on quality and traceability
