Location: Derby Salary: £24,000-£28,000 p/a DOE Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm Our client, a modern, expanding accountancy practice based in Derby, are looking for a Trainee Accountant to join their team. About the Role As a Trainee Accountant, you'll gain exposure across all areas of accounting and client support. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing accounts and financial statements Assisting with VAT returns and tax preparation Supporting self-assessment tax return preparation Contacting HMRC on behalf of clients Completing bookkeeping and other client administrative tasks Working closely with qualified accountants and gaining exposure to real client work This is a full-time position based in the firm's Derby office, with hybrid working to be reviewed post probation. What We're Looking For No prior accounting experience is necessary - just a genuine interest in developing a career in accountancy. Ideal candidates will have: Strong communication and organisational skills Excellent attention to detail A proactive and motivated attitude The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines Experience with cloud-based accounting software is a plus If you're studying towards your AAT (or planning to), this firm will fully support your qualification and future professional development.
