The Role
We’re looking for a Production Assistant to join our Cakery Department, supporting our Cakery Supervisor and baking team in producing cakes, traybakes, biscuits and sweet bakes to a consistently high standard.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with food, values precision and organisation, and takes satisfaction in seeing beautifully made products leave the kitchen each day.
You’ll work within a fast-paced production environment, learning the discipline, techniques and standards required in a professional bakery setting.
Whether you already have kitchen or bakery experience, or are looking to build a career in baking or food production, we’ll provide training and support to help you develop.
What You’ll Be Doing
* * Supporting the cakery team with daily cake and bake preparation
*
Preparing and weighing ingredients (mise en place) in line with recipes and production plans
*
Assisting with mixing, portioning, decorating, finishing and packing products ready for delivery
*
Safely operating bakery equipment and ovens whilst monitoring baking times and temperatures
*
Following technical recipes carefully to maintain quality and consistency
*
Maintaining clean, organised and safe working areas throughout the shift
*
Supporting deliveries, stock rotation and ingredient storage
*
Assisting with inventory management and proactive restocking of baking supplies
*
Working collaboratively as a team to meet daily production deadlines
* Safety, Quality & Compliance

Following UK food safety legislation, hygiene standards and HACCP procedures
o
Maintaining strong allergen awareness and food safety practices
o
Supporting cleanliness and organisation across kitchen and production areas
o
Helping ensure all products meet Honesty’s quality and safety standards
* What We’re Looking For
o
A genuine interest in baking or food production — home baking or food studies welcome
o
Bakery, kitchen or food production experience helpful but not essential
o
A positive attitude and reliable approach to work
o
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality products
o
Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices is beneficial
o
Comfortable working in a busy production environment
o
Flexible with early starts when required
o
Someone who enjoys being part of a supportive team and learning new skills
