We’re partnering with a global business looking for a hands-on Data Scientist who enjoys solving real operational problems with data, not just building models in isolation.
You’ll work with live industrial, sensor, and time series data to uncover failure patterns, improve equipment performance, and help customers make smarter operational decisions. The role is practical, fast-paced, and highly collaborative, with a strong focus on applying data science in real-world environments.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team building a modern industrial IoT and AI platform combining cloud streaming, operational analytics, and emerging AI/LLM technologies. With strong investment in innovation and a proven track record of developing people internally, it’s a business where you can genuinely grow alongside the technology.
There’s a strong customer facing side to the role. You’ll be speaking with both technical and non technical stakeholders, so being able to explain complex ideas in a simple, practical way is key!
Occasional international travel will be required.
What you'll be doing:
• Working with large volumes of industrial and sensor data
• Building predictive analytics and reporting tools in Python
• Spotting patterns, anomalies, and early indicators of equipment failure
• Turning complex data into clear recommendations customers can actually use
• Running demos, workshops, and customer presentations
• Working closely with commercial teams, engineers, and customers to shape solutions
• Helping deploy and improve analytics tools used in live operational environments
• Supporting the growth of a next generation industrial IoT and AI platform
What we're looking for:
• Experience in a Data Scientist role
• Strong Python skills including pandas, numpy, and scikit learn
• Experience working with time series, IoT, sensor, manufacturing, or operational data
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of how analytics creates value for customers
• Confidence presenting ideas and insights to different audiences
• Experience working in customer facing, consulting, or collaborative environments
• Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure or production environments
• A degree in a technical subject such as Data Science, Engineering, Maths or Physics
Great package on offer including a competitive basic salary, private medical, discretionary bonus, 8% employer pension contribution, life insurance, enhanced maternity and paternity package and a recognition and reward scheme!
