Planner / Senior Planner – Planning ApplicationsSalary: £32,417 – £41,082 (Career Graded 6/7) + £1,000 car allowance
Location: Swale Borough Council (Hybrid Working, two days per week in the office preferred)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (34 hours per week)We are proud to be working exclusively with Swale Borough Council, a forward-thinking and ambitious local authority in Kent, to recruit a Planning Officer to join their busy and supportive Planning Applications team.

About the RoleAs a Planning Officer, you’ll play a vital role in delivering a high-quality planning service across the borough. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Processing a range of planning applications, including advertisements, listed buildings, Tree Preservation Orders, and Conservation Area notices.
2. Providing development advice to householders, agents, developers, and landowners.
3. Preparing and presenting the Council’s case at appeals, inquiries, hearings, and court proceedings mensurate with grade).
4. Supporting the preparation and presentation of reports to Member Working Groups andmittees.

What you'll bring
5. A relevant undergraduate degree or diploma.
6. Membership of the RTPI (or working towards full membership of the RTPI or RICS).
7. Experience of collaborative working across teams and with external stakeholders.
8. Strongmunication and organisational skills.
9. The ability to travel independently around the borough.
