location: Immingham, United Kingdom (100% site based)Salary: £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Our client is one of the leading bulk fuels distribution and storage companies in Europe.
Position Overview:
They are now seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team in Immingham. In this role, you will assist the Project Manager in delivering Commercial Growth CAPEX projects, including new installations and managing inspection and repair programs for tanks and pipelines. You will oversee multiple engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring they are executed on time, within budget, and in compliance with company standards and UK legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the enhancement of project management systems, procedures, and workflows.
* Coordinate inputs for project proposals from cross-functional teams, including Operations & Maintenance, HSSE, and Commercial colleagues.
* Support the Management of Change process throughout the project's lifecycle in alignment with company procedures.
* Ensure allocated projects are executed per plan, budget, and scope.
* Develop scopes of work based on business needs, third-party inspections, and repair plans, including budgets and project schedules.
* Plan and manage engineering project programs in accordance with UK and European legislation (ATEX, PLSG, API, EEMUA, etc.).
* Collaborate with stakeholders to request plant and system downtime.
* Oversee contract engineers
* Manage time and resources to comply with Working Time Regulations and health and safety responsibilities.
* Report project activities and provide relevant information to the Project Manager.
* Ensure all activities comply with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements, particularly regarding safety and safe systems of work.
Experience requiredThe ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related science field. You will have experience in managing medium to large CAPEX projects within hazardous environments, along with a working knowledge of COMAH, MOC, and CDM regulations. Key qualifications include:
* Experience managing multiple site works and understanding current legislation (PSSR, LOLER, DSEAR, PUWER, COMAH, CDM).
* Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (BS EN 14015, API 570/650/653, BS EN 60079).
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders.
* Incorporated/Chartered status, or working towards it, along with a project management qualification (APM PMQ or equivalent).
* Considerable experience in the oil industry or similarly regulated environments, with knowledge of COMAH being a plus.
