Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Open Stack (AVP) Salesforce Engineer to join a delivery-focused technology team. The role requires strong hands-on development capability across Salesforce and Java, with a clear emphasis on modern engineering practices, API design, and test-driven development.
This position is suited to a senior engineer who is comfortable working within CI/CD-driven environments and contributing to high-quality, scalable enterprise solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design, develop, and maintain Salesforce-based solutions using Java and modern engineering practices
2. Build and consume RESTful APIs, ensuring robust and secure integrations
3. Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) approaches where applicable
4. Produce and maintain OpenAPI specifications using OAS / YAML
5. Write comprehensive unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability
6. Contribute to automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile delivery environment
8. Ensure code quality, security, and maintainability through best-practice tooling and standards
Mandatory Skills & Experience
9. 5+ years' experience with Salesforce development
10. 5+ years' experience with Java
11. Strong, demonstrable experience with TDD (and BDD, where applicable)
12. Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs
13. Hands-on experience with OpenAPI Specification (OAS) / YAML
14. Solid understanding of unit testing frameworks
15. Experience using GitLab for version control and CI/CD pipelines
16. Strong understanding of modern software development lifecycles
Desirable Skills & Experience
17. Agile practitioner experience
18. Exposure to SonarQube for code quality management
19. Experience with Veracode or similar security scanning tools
20. Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
21. Experience working in large-scale or enterprise environments
