Role Overview
This role blends regulatory compliance expertise for ISO tank operations with data-driven business analysis. You will ensure all food-grade and cryogenic tank activities meet global standards, while delivering insights that drive process optimisation, cost savings, and revenue growth.
The Global ISO Tank product lead will coordinate and manage the Regional ISO Tank Product Team to support their job functions and where needed, assist with DHL commercial and operational teams on ISO tank know how and technical assistance. This includes maintaining a network of ISO tank providers and supporting vendors to ensure flexibility and capacity so that we may offer our customers competitive options to ensure continued profitable growth for the DHL Group.
The role will contribute to defining pricing strategy including equipment planning, key initiatives and systems initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Management of Global ISO Tank 3rd Party Provider
* Contract management of 3rd Party ISO Tank Services, working with global and regional ISO tank operators.
* Manage and maintain a qualified pool of ISO tank service providers to ensure availability, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
* Source, evaluate, and onboard new ISO tank providers in line with operational needs and company standards.
* Develop strong working relationships with providers to ensure consistent service quality, timely delivery, and responsiveness.
* Monitor provider performance using KPIs such as turnaround time, equipment condition, safety records, and cost control.
* Negotiate rates and service agreements, ensuring competitive pricing and favorable terms.
* Coordinate with internal teams (logistics, procurement, operations) to align tank supply with project or customer requirements.
* Compliance: Ensure all providers meet applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
* Market Trends : Continuously assess market trends and capacity constraints to proactively manage provider availability and risk.
Compliance
* Overall 3rd Party ISO Tank Operator and other service providers Compliance: Ensure ISO tank service provider’s compliance to ISO tank Industry and DHL Group policies and standards. Manage through agreed standards adopted by DHL DGF (e.g., EFTCO, ITCO, ECD, ISO 22000)
* Prior Cargoes Compliance: Ensure that all ISO 3rd Party Iso Tank companies contracted have traceability of all compliance documentation especially cleaning certification and understand process deployed of ISO Tank previous cargoes by 3rd party ISO tank companies and ensuring compliance to DHL Group standards.
* Lead internal and external compliance audits: prepare non-conformance reports and drive corrective action plans.
* Monitor market and regulatory developments: Recommending policy or procedure updates to maintain best-in-class standards.
* Knowledge Documentation Library: Build and maintain the SharePoint library with documents, SOP’s and other information.
* Provide expert operational and technical advice and recommendations: When called upon, provide guidance and knowhow to offices to improve decision making and cost control, operational and technical and compliance matters related to ISO Tanks.
* Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Review. With 3rd Party ISO Tank Operators, ensure capture of SDS information and ensure our ability to carry cargos presented by customers and select correct ISO Tanks on basis of Customer prior cargo requirements.
* Partner with operations, safety, quality, and commercial teams: Translate analytical findings into process enhancements and KPI targets.
Management of Regional ISO Tank Product lead on following Operational Service Excellence tasks
* ISO Tank Best Practices: Contribute to the identification and implementation of best policies, practices and procedures for effective business processes, collaborating with technical resources and Field Technical team members to enhance operational efficiency.
* Provide ISO expert advice and recommendations: Provide guidance and knowhow to offices to improve decision making and cost control, operational and technical and compliance matters related to ISO Tanks.
* Customer Operation Protocols: Working with the local commercial and operations teams to prepare, highlight and maintain customer Standard Operating Profiles detailing their specific requirements so we deliver individual service quality and excellence.
* Equipment Choice: Provide guidance on ISO Tank Know how, Specifications, specific equipment and preparation options.
* Vendor Management: Liasion with the operations teams and 3rd party ISO Tank operators to ensure equipment provided is to specific requirement’s specified, including priors, cleaning, certification and preparation. To oversee efficient on-hire / off hire process and to that assist with any disputes on ISO tank performance, repairs and damage.
* Emergency Response and Incidents: To provide guidance and advice as requested to protect business interests.
* Knowledge Documentation Library: Assist in Building and maintaining the SharePoint library with documents, SOP’s and other information.
Management of Regional ISO Tank Product Lead on following ISO Commercial Activities
* ILR Pricing: Obtain quotations from 3rd party ISO Tank providers for ILR rates, review, negotiate and then deliver to commercial teams, facilitating feedback and renegotiations as required.
* ISO Tank Rates to customers assistance: Assist in issuing overall costings and quotes with commercial and operational teams and support on customer tenders
* Support commercial teams: In accordance with set strategy, assist commercial teams across targeted market segments and trade lanes to achieve targeted market positioning. interact with offices to understand customer needs within DHL DGF and competitively procure in accordance with this goal.
* ISO Tank ILR pricing and quoting strategies: Ensure these are implemented and followed in region.
* Work Closely: With the DHL Commercial Teams to drive the volume growth of ISO Tanks to achieve ISO Tank budgets and strategies.
* Analyze and Research: Constantly review the ISO Tank market in the region and our own business flows to interpret competitive landscape and assist in identifying target market position by geography, market segment, customer group, etc.
Specific Additional Global Commercial Activities
* Project Support: Business case development for resource allocation, equipment investment, and new service offerings based on financial modeling and scenario analysis.
* Analyse and Research: Constantly review the Global ISO Tank market in line with our own business flows to interpret competitive landscape and assist in identifying target market position by geography, market segment, customer group, etc. Identify trends and develop recommendations for improvements that deliver higher quality and/or lower cost
* Advice: When asked or when needed, advise customers and key stakeholders on processes, systems, tools & technical ISO tank know how.
* ILR Pricing and Strategy: Oversee Regional ISO Team with regard to ILR pricing from 3rd party Iso Tank Operators and ensure process management and quotation delivery. Ensure follow up, feedback and renegotiation.
* ISO Tank ILR pricing and quoting strategies: Ensure these are implemented and followed Globally. In accordance with Commercial lead set strategy assist commercial teams across targeted market segments and trade lanes to achieve targeted market positioning.
* Work Closely: With the DHL Commercial Teams, Regional ISO tank team to achieve current year budgets, identify pipeline and growth targets and strategies.
* Rates to customers assistance: Assist in issuing costings and quotes to for the Global ISO Tank Lead & offices, support on customer tenders and be liaison when the Global ISO Tank Lead is out of the office.
* Assist commercial teams: Develop complex, competitive and consistent commercial/pricing proposals according to commercial/pricing policies and standards across customers, products, countries
* Prepare efficient responses: Respond to commercial/pricing requests and have performance assessed against agreed KPIs (quote turnround).
* Sustainability: Work on sustainability initiatives within the ISO Tank Sector activities linking in with 2030 strategy of green logistics provider of choice.
* Ensures that all interactions are compliant with DPDHL Code of Conduct and other compliance requirements e.g. anti-corruption
* Contribute to the First Choice continuous improvement program

* Capacity to operate calmly under pressure and respond effectively and objectively.
Experience and Education:
Education Level
* Batchelor Degree
* Relevant certifications in logistics management or technical operations are a plus.
Experience Level
* More than 8 years in global ISO tanks segment.
* Well versed in DHL and Hillebrand Gori operations and pricing IT systems & processes.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical operations, logistics management or a related field within the freight forwarding or transportation industry, with a focus on ISO Tank operations.
