Job Title: Business Development Manager
Department: Software Sales
Location: Sheffield/Talbot Green/London
Working Pattern: Hybrid – Includes 3 days a week on site each week
Contract Type: Full time, permanent
Salary: up to £42,000 salary, plus £40,000 commission
Role overview: As a Business Development Manager, you will drive the growth of SaaS revenues by identifying and cultivating relationships with key decision-makers within a defined customer base. This outbound role requires a proactive approach to pipeline development, market understanding, and delivering sales targets. You will showcase expertise in demonstrating software solutions to prospective customers, fostering relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Key responsibilities
* Consistently meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
* Drive outbound calling to build and manage a robust sales pipeline.
* Conduct high-quality product demonstrations using value-based approaches.
* Maintain CRM accuracy, ensuring timely and precise revenue forecasting.
* Develop deep market and product knowledge to stay ahead of competitors.
* Engage with C-level stakeholders and decision-makers to secure complex deals.
* Collaborate with the wider sales team, identifying cross-sell opportunities.
* Act as a role model for best practices, inspiring and supporting team colleagues.

* Detail-oriented with excellent time management and CRM management skills.

* Familiarity with SaaS solutions and understanding of market trends and customer needs (desirable).
* Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to understand and address the unique needs of various educational institutions.
* Expertise in sales methodology and consultative, value-based selling.Excellent verbal communication and listening skills, with the ability to handle objections and build rapport quickly.
* Adaptable and persuasive in engaging stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
* Proficiency in managing time effectively, maintaining CRM accuracy, and providing detailed forecasts.
