The role
We are working with a large, inclusive secondary school in Northumberland to recruit a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support pupils across KS3–KS5. The school has a strong reputation for high expectations, personalised support, and a supportive learning environment, making it an excellent setting for an LSA who wants to make a real difference.
You will work closely with teachers, SEN and pastoral teams to help pupils access lessons, develop confidence, and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, SEMH, or additional learning needs
* Assist teachers in the classroom to promote engagement and understanding
* Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence, and independence
* Help monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching and SEN staff
* Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
The ideal candidate
* Experience working with children or young people (including education, care, youth work, tutoring)
* Calm, patient, and proactive approach
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Confidence supporting behaviour and engagement in a secondary setting
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
