The role
We are working with a large, inclusive secondary school in Northumberland to recruit a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support pupils across KS3–KS5. The school has a strong reputation for high expectations, personalised support, and a supportive learning environment, making it an excellent setting for an LSA who wants to make a real difference.
You will work closely with teachers, SEN and pastoral teams to help pupils access lessons, develop confidence, and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities
7. Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, SEMH, or additional learning needs
8. Assist teachers in the classroom to promote engagement and understanding
9. Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence, and independence
10. Help monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching and SEN staff
11. Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
The ideal candidate
12. Experience working with children or young people (including education, care, youth work, tutoring)
13. Calm, patient, and proactive approach
14. Strong communication and relationship-building skills
15. Confidence supporting behaviour and engagement in a secondary setting
16. Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
