Finance Assistant
Location: Basingstoke
Contract: Office based, Full time, 12 Month Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)
Salary up to £25,532.64 per annum
We are looking for a dedicated Finance Assistant to support the delivery of the Government Key Worker Accommodation Contract, working across various stages of a property’s life cycle. This varied and rewarding role involves processing invoices and receipts, auditing and arranging payments, and maintaining accurate financial records to ensure all payment terms are met and penalties are avoided. You’ll play a key part in delivering exceptional service by ensuring timely payments to customers and clients, while also providing administrative support to managers to help achieve wider business objectives. The role includes updating and maintaining written and digital records, conducting data audits, producing reports, and highlighting key findings. Role Criteria
 1. Experience in processing invoices, receipts, and arranging payments
 2. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial records
 3. Understanding of payment terms and the importance of avoiding penalties
 4. Ability to deliver timely and accurate payments to customers and clients
 5. Skilled in providing administrative support to managers and wider teams
 6. Proficient in updating and maintaining both written and digital records
 7. Experience conducting data audits and producing reports
 8. Ability to analyse and highlight key findings from financial data
 9. Strong organisational and time-management skills
 10. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
 11. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and comfortable using finance systems
 12. Ability to work across multiple stages of a property’s life cycle
 13. Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
 14. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
 15. Understanding of or willingness to learn about government contracts and housing operations
 16. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
