Our Client, a World recognised and respected Automotive OEM Manufacturer based in rural Warwickshire, is actively seeking an experienced Production Planner / Production Scheduler, who ideally has previously relevant industry exposure, to join them on what initially will be a 3-month contract basis, with a view to this being made into a permanent position at the end of the term. On offer to the successful applicant, is a lucrative hourly rate (inside IR35), before then and when made permanent a competitive basic salary, together with a full comprehensive benefits package.
At our Client, the Supply Chain Planning team is responsible for creating robust, capacity assured, deliverable production plans to optimise the flow of material and car production, whilst meeting business needs (cost, throughput, customer service) and managing risks. As their Production Planner / Production Scheduler, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining the master production schedule, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and implementing best practices to ensure on-time delivery of vehicles.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
To develop and maintain the master production schedule (production plan) to ensure timely and efficient production of vehicles, taking into consideration capacity, inventory levels and order call.
Collaborate with the manufacturing, engineering, and Supplier capacity planners to ensure the availability of materials and resources necessary to meet production plan.
Monitor production performance and make adjustments to the production schedule as necessary to ensure on-time delivery of vehicles.
Allocate customer orders into vehicle ‘slots’ in the production schedule – ensure delivery dates are met, supply lead times respected, production constraints are not broken and level demand where possible. Analyse demand patterns and production constraints
Manage forecast schedule in the systems in line with Sales requirements.You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Should ideally have a Degree in Business, or a STEM subject and/or relevant professional qualification (eg. APICS - CSCP), although plenty of relevant experience will be taken into consideration.
Should be experienced in Vehicle or Production Planning / Production Scheduling, ideally with previous Automotive industry experience.
You will have the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, together with the ability to work accurately and efficiently, taking resourceful action during periods of considerable pressure.
Should understand the S/OP process.
A demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the business is needed.
Should have experience using an ERP system in a Planning role.
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel or Tableau is required.It would be great if you also have the following:
An awareness of an Automotive Production System / Lean Manufacturing, would be an advantage.
Familiar with the INFOR ERP system.
The ability to create and use business intelligence tools such as Power BI / SSRS / Domo / Birst including writing SQL queries would be preferable.
Experience using root cause problem solving techniques.This position is available with immediate effect.
